Lincoln Elementary offers counseling services to all students through classroom guidance lessons, small group opportunities, individual sessions, and referrals to community agencies for therapeutic services. All students participate in classroom guidance lessons, focusing on healthy coping skills, self-confidence, appropriate behaviors, feelings, etc. Students can be referred or recommended for small groups based on their need. Students can also be referred or recommended for individual counseling for specific, chronic concerns. Mrs. Minser sees students as requested, when in crisis, and/ or to help solve a problem. For more intentional or long term therapy, students are referred to an outside agency, preferably one providing school based therapy at LES. Currently, LifePoint Solutions and NorthKey provide therapeutic services during the school day at LES.
